ABOUT THE TEACHER

Before coming to UK to study her Master Degree in the late 90s, Ling lived in China and moved often with her family to different regions. The vast difference in dialects and the need in adapting to them has given her a deep appreciation of the power of language.

Working as a business consultant with many sectors including IT, Mobile, Construction and Food Industry, Ling also has her own travel company specialise in tours to China, Japan, Korea and Indochina region. Her work often involves with culture exchanges and that is what she is passionate about - building bridges between the East and the West.

Ling’s Mandarin club started from personal interest to help her daughter’s primary school project. She enjoys teaching Mandarin to school children and adults.

“Chinese language has a reputation of being difficult to learn. With a suitable approach, learning it can be fun and rewarding at the same time. “

“Knowing some form of Chinese provides a great platform for children’s futures. The formulation of many Chinese characters are very meaningful, providing links to the Ancient history and philosophy which can be fascinating!”
